AGATE
Colour: Green
Family: Corundum Group
As a stone of anchorage and luck, it brings emotional, physical and intellectual balance by eliminating energy blockages within the body. It is soothing, calming and gives courage. Used in the jewellery of Anaconda or Lito Fine Jewellery, it exists in green, red, yellow, blue or black.

AMETHYST
Colour: Purple
Family: QUARTZ
Amethyst, having been rare in ancient times, was first discovered in large quantities in Brazil and Mexico, then in Belgium, France, Madagascar, Finland and Canada. It is considered to be one of the most powerful stones to protect one from fears, stress, depression and anger – and generally helps one to relax. It also has purifying qualities.

AQUAMARINE
Colour: Light Green / Blue
Family: BERYL
Aquamarine in Latin – aqua marina (“sea water”) – is the stone of travellers and sailors. Its colour comes from the presence of iron traces and varies according to its origin. The more intense the blue, the more famous and expensive aquamarine is. It is one of the most sought-after gemstones because it is known to strengthen bonds of friendship and love.

Chalcedony is a post volcanic formation that appears especially near hot springs, sedimentary areas or strong seismic activity. Its colour ranges from gray-blue to gray-green via gray-white. Its calming properties, it is believed to absorb negative feelings whilst channeling emotions, therefore placing its wearer in a mental state conducive to happiness.

CHRYSOPRASE
Colour: Deep Green
Family: Quartz
The name chrysoprase comes from the ancient Greek krisos (“golden”, for its brilliance) and prason (“leek”, for its green colour). It is one of the purest stones along with jade, with which it is sometimes confused. It brings harmony and calm to its wearer by reducing anger. The artists’ stone, it nurtures personal development and bonds of friendship.

CITRINE
Colour: Yellow / Orange / Brown
Family: Quartz
Citrine is a luminous and vitaminized stone, a variety of quartz whose colour, ranging from yellow to orange.
Traditionally thought of as the merchants’ stone because it is said to bring prosperity, citrine is filled with positive energies and is said to stimulate good humour and creativity.

CORAL

Family: Coralliidae / Antipatharia
Coral is a marine material. Jewelry corals—like red coral from Japan or the Mediterranean, golden coral from China, and black coral from the Pacific—are sourced from reefs in warm seas.
A symbol of vitality and joie de vivre, it brings self-confidence and restores courage. It is also comforting with the ability to repair certain traumas.

DIAMOND
Colour: Colorless
Family: Carbon mineral family
It is the hardest stone in existence and only another diamond can scratch it. It is a master stone in jewellery, and its power to fascinate makes it a major asset in seduction that illuminates jewels and makes them more brilliant. A symbol of eternal love, it is the lover’s favourite stone. But the ethical shortcomings related to its extraction have damaged its reputation.

EMERALD
Colour: Green
Family: Beryl
Fragile and rare because its formation requires exceptional geological conditions, it is one of the most expensive stones. Its purity is established according to its inclusions, poetically called “gardens”, which give a unique DNA to each stone.
As a symbol of rebirth, fertility, love and wisdom, the emerald has a strong seductive force.

GARNET
Colour: Orange / Black / Red
Family: Silicate Mineral Group
The word garnet comes from “seeded fruit,” referencing pomegranate seeds that resemble its deep red color. Garnet comes in many types, including almandine (purple), hessonite (dark orange), rhodolite (pink), and tsavorite (green). A stone of grounding and self-confidence, garnet is said to help combat sadness and emotional instability.

GOLD

Gold has been used since the end of prehistory and it was one of the first coloured metals recognized by the metallurgists of antiquity.
Gold is a very malleable material which, in its purest form is too soft and therefore impossible to work with in jewellery. To create jewellery, it must be mixed with other metals.

IOLITE
Colour: Grey / Blue / Purple
Family: Silicate
A transparent silicate first used by the Vikings as a filter to catch sunlight on overcast days, iolite is still nicknamed “compass rock”. The Greeks, who used iolite in the cult of Athena, considered it be sacred.
This very hard rock helps to express feelings – ideal for logical people who think more than they feel.

JADE
Colour: Green
Family: Silicate
Jade is generally in varying shades of green, but can also have a blue, brown, grey, purple, orange or red tint.
A smooth, ornamental stone, jade is soft to the touch. Considered as a stone of longevity, jade promotes compassion. Associated with purity, harmony, and protection. Believed to bring luck, health, and emotional balance.

KYANITE

Family: Silicate
Cyanite is often confused with sapphire. It was believed to amplify the spiritual energy of its wearer and help make dreams come true, cyanite was usually cut and mounted on beautiful amulets. Highly energetic, it is said to heal conflict and inspire loyalty and the fair treatment of others. As a symbol of self-knowledge, it can give confidence to shy people.

LABRADORITE
Colour: Grey Green / Grey Blue
Family: Feldspar Group
The most beautiful specimens are extracted from mines. A fascinating mineral dominated by greys and blues, labradorite reveals the full light spectrum with metallic flashes that create a superb interplay of reflections. Synonymous with security and regeneration, labradorite is said to be a protective stone that also balances the physical & mental.

LAPIS-LAZULI
Colour: Blue
Family: Feldspathoid
Lapis lazuli has a double origin: Latin (lapis “stone”) and Arabic (azul “blue”). It is a blue stone whose intensity and quality vary with 14 minerals. Lazurite gives it its blue color; wollastonite with calcite creates grey and white veins, while iron sulfide adds gold inclusions. A stone of courage, lapis is said to ease communication, reduce stress, and overcome fear.

MALACHITE
Colour: Green
Family: Carbonate
Malachite takes its name from the colour of the leaves of the Mallow plant. Its colour can vary from pale to very intense green. Known to give confidence, malachite has known to be a stone of protection giving powers of discernment and aiding sleep. Malachite is a stone best worn alone because it tends to absorb surrounding energies – including that of other stones.

MOONSTONE

Family: Feldspar
The word moonstone comes from chandra (“moon”) because when it comes into contact with light, moonstone diffracts, producing a pale glow reminiscent of the moon. the moonstone is synonymous with femininity, motherhood, innocence and tolerance. It is known to promote intuition. Moonstone provides a dose of mineral softness whose pearly reflections.

ONYX
Colour: Black / Green / White
Family: Chalcedony
From the Latin onyx (“nail” and “kind of agate”), onyx is a variety of chalcedony which, in ancient times, was used to identify certain chalcedonies whose colour was reminiscent of fingernails.
Onyx is a decorative stone linked to motivation. It is said to give strength and support during times of physical and mental stress.

OPAL
Colour: White / Blue / Green / Black
Family: Opal
Opal is a fascinating and very varied mineral, showing unusual color play in black opals or vibrant, fiery hues in fire opals. Noble opals are highly prized in fine jewelry for their iridescence, while common opals are sometimes transparent. It was once believed that opals were born from lightning, with its light forever trapped in the stone.

PEARL

Family: Pearl
Pearl has always been highly valued for its beauty and rarity and has aroused as much fervour as precious stones. Born for the most part in oysters, pearls are small, white or gray, lustrous pearly beads that appear as a result of an irritation of the mollusk’s inner shell. Timeless, elegant, and naturally enchanting, the pearl continues to exude its power of seduction.

Peridot has often been mistaken for emerald on royal treasures. Like diamonds, peridot forms in the depths of the mantle. Through tectonic movement and volcanic action, this stone, buried several kilometres down, is brought to the surface. A stone of self-confidence, peridot’s green light of beauty and purity is said to temper or even dispel resentment, nervousness, jealousy.

Platinum is prized for its rarity, strength, and elegant silvery-white shine. Formed deep in the Earth’s crust and brought to the surface through complex geological processes, it symbolizes purity, endurance, and commitment. Durable and tarnish-resistant, platinum is said to promote focus, determination, and emotional balance.

PYRITE
Colour: Grey / Golden
Family: Sulfide
From the Greek pyros (“fire”), pyrite was used in prehistoric times to make fire. Its metallic and golden lustre make it reflective. Often confused with gold, because of its brassy yellow to golden yellow colour, pyrite has been nicknamed “fool’s gold”. A concrete and rigorous stone, it is said to refocus the mind and enable efficiency.

Quartz
Colour: Pink / Transparent
Family: Silicate
There are many varieties of quartz: clear quartz (also called rock crystal), rutile quartz. Rose quartz, smoky quartz, blue quartz and lemon quartz. It is a mineral that is found on every continent. A metaphysical stone, quartz is known in lithotherapy for opening up new concepts and is considered a powerful body cleanser.

AGATE

Family: Calcite
Rhodocrosite is a pink – or sometimes bright red – stone with a pearly lustre that can be transparent or translucent. The presence of manganese in its composition is what gives it its colour. became known as the stone of forgiveness, loyalty and true love, after a legend of forbidden love between a warriors. It remains the stone of love and compassion.

Sapphire is a precious stone whose name comes from the ancient Greek “sappheiros” (blue coloured stone) or perhaps from the Hebrew “saphar” (to engrave). Its resistance to scratching lends it to use in watch glass, camera lenses or smartphones. A symbol of truth, this stone gives strength and loyalty to those who wear it.

SILVER
Colour: Grey
Family: Noble Metal
In jewellery-making, silver is often coated with a thin layer of rhodium to give it a more uniform and lasting colour. However, designers prefer its natural tone and rarely rhodium-plate silver pieces. Instead, they set it with stones and let it oxidise naturally for a modern, elegant look. Like gold, silver is malleable & cannot be used in 100% purity for jewellery-making.

SPINEL

Family: Spinels
Spinel takes its name from the Latin word spinella, in reference to its sharp-edged crystals. There are different varieties of spinel: red, once confused with ruby, cobalt, which was once related to sapphire, fancy, lavender, purple, parma , pink , star (which is very rare) and the elegant and timeless black. As a stone of protection, it is said to give courage & promote detachment.

TANZANITE
Colour: Blue / Purple
Family: Zoisite
Tanzanite, named after Tanzania, was once brown but turned blue-violet after exposure to bush fires. Its trichroism lets it shift from blue to bronze to red-violet, depending on the angle. Rare fancy tanzanites, like the chameleon variety, show stunning multicoloured reflections. A stone of creativity and self-expression, tanzanite inspires artists.

TOPAZ
Colour: Blue / Yellow

The name of topaz comes from the island of Topazos, located on the Red Sea. In its natural state, this fine stone exists in a wide variety of colours. Called “golden stone” in ancient times, the Romans and Greeks believed it gave them strength and could even make them invisible. TOURMALINE

Taken from the Sinhalese word turmali (“stone of mixed colours”), the tourmaline’s name is a tribute to its 33 varieties. These range from common, like the elbaite variety (which can be colourless, blue, green or pink) to rare — for example, the watermelon variety, which is pink in the centre and green around its edges.
